We are delighted to mark ten years since the very first Aviation Cultures event took place on 27 February 2015 in Sydney. The ten years since then has seen a significant number of conferences and other events, both in-person and online.
We’d love to hear back from you, but first some background!

While Aviation Cultures is firmly Australian based, it has always had a global perspective with presenters and attendees from all over the world, from Peru to Malta, Japan to Hong Kong, and SO many more.
Topics have always been incredibly wide ranging, with top-level insight from practitioners, academics and expert enthusiasts, making sure we honour the ‘s’ in Cultures, and we know it’s vital to keep the events open to anyone.
The social, networking and idea-sharing elements of these meets is as important as the formal presentations – and we understand as valuable, as the traditional in-person sessions.
What’s New?

The committee of Aviation Cultures Inc are working on several new events though 2025 and 2026, including another major conference, this time with a new dimension: so please stay tuned! In the meantime we have plans under development for events focused on resources for aviation writers, insights on aviation publishing, popular cultural aspects of aviation. And more! What would you like to see?

Please wish Aviation Cultures a happy tenth birthday, by replying to one or both of the following questions, so we can share your thoughts!
- What was the best thing you got out of attending and Aviation Cultures event?
- What, in particular, would you say to encourage anyone thinking of coming to an Aviation Cultures event?
We’d love to hear your answers – and any other feedback. We will be sharing some highlights on social media, so let us know if you’d rather NOT have your comment shared. Thank you so much!
See You Soon?

It’s the people, and their ideas, that make Aviation Cultures what it is. Please stay tuned for our forthcoming event announcements, and please feel free to share this email to anyone you think might be interested. Our small official committee, myself, Tash, Phil and Andy, ably supported by a few more of the stalwart team, are always keen to have new faces join us, so if you’re interested in getting more involved, please so let us know!
With best wishes,
James Kightly, President of Aviation Cultures Incorporated.
