Aviation Cultures is a series of conferences where researchers and practitioners come together to share their knowledge and ideas about flight, and its place in history and society. To understand what kinds of things Aviation Cultures is about, read more about our history, and you can also look at what we discussed in past conferences!
The Aviation Cultures Mk.VIII Conference took place in June 2026. It was international, in Canada, in partnership with two great organisations, the Canadian Aviation Historical Society (CAHS) at the KF Centre for Excellence at Kelowna, BC. The event was streamed online as well. Full details on the event page. We may be able to release some recordings, but cannot guarantee to do so. Please stay in touch if you are interested.

Before that, our most recent previous events were ‘Logbooks & AvDocs’ in November 2025 where field experts talked about finding and interpreting logbooks and other aviation docs. Then, on 27-28 February 2026, we shared ‘Print the Legend‘: a look at the changes in aviation biography from the old ‘Boy’s Own’ to more detailed and tougher modern ‘warts and all’ biographies. More details under the ‘Archived Spotlights’ tab above.
